Dark Matter Laboratories is a not-for-profit strategic discovery, design and development lab working on the institutional, financial, regulatory and cultural conditions needed for more equitable and regenerative futures.
DML focuses on enabling capabilities for equitable adaptation. Its contribution supports municipal capacity building and targeted governance, finance and regulatory innovation so that climate adaptation can be implemented fairly and with longer-term institutional support.
This matters because a climate measure is only as just as the systems that design, fund, maintain and evaluate it. DML helps JUST4CARE look at the ‘dark matter’ behind adaptation: rules, incentives, institutional routines and decision-making cultures that can either protect communities or reproduce inequalities.
